Duo Cellissima is comprised of cellists Maxine Neuman and Lucy Bardo, who perform selections from an extensive repertoire of cello duets by Telemann, Boccherini, Mozart, Gliere, Stevens, and others.

Maxine Neuman has a solo and chamber music career spanning North America, South America, Europe and Japan. She can be heard in such diverse settings as the Montreux Jazz Festival, the films of Jim Jarmusch, and with the rock band, Metallica. She has expanded the chamber music ensemble repertoire – especially for multiple celli and cello and guitar – by arranging and transcribing works from every period. A longtime champion of contemporary music, she has commissioned and premiered works by many of today’s leading composers. She is on the faculty at the New York School for Strings and has taught at Bennington College, Williams College and C.W. Post University.

Lucy Bardo has had a distinguished career performing classical music from seven centuries on various instruments including cello, viola da gamba and medieval fiddle. A charter member of the renaissance band, Calliope, and long time member of the New York Consort of Viols, she also plays with the Vineyard Musicke Baroque Ensemble and the Berkshire Bach Ensemble. She has appeared as a soloist on viola da gamba with many musical organizations including the Metropolitan Opera, the New York Philharmonic, and the Berkshire Choral Festival. Lucy teaches at Simons Rock College and at the Kent School, and is an editor of music for viola da gamba.

Both cellists perform with the Columbia Festival Orchestra
